The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and Councilwoman Carmen Martín, presented this morning at the Trade Council the draft of the Strategic Plan for Trade and the second phase of pedestrianization of the old town.

Promote and promote small business is the objective of the Strategic Trade Plan, whose draft has been presented this morning by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and Councilwoman Carmen Martín.

Among the actions contemplated in this document is the implementation of the ComCéntrico brand, which is intended to identify and promote the small business of Cartagena, as well as the creation of a web page, which is already underway, in the one that the commerce will be able to make known.

These are just some of the measures proposed in this plan, which includes all the recommendations of the different associations of merchants in the municipality, as well as the municipal political groups.

The mayor of Cartagena has said that these proposals are aimed at ordering the actions performed by the merchants of the municipality.

"Therefore, what this Government has done is to order them in those months that there is no activity scheduled from the different Councils can intensify the programs that serve to give life to the city center and, most importantly, that encourage citizens to visit local commerce, traditional trade that still needs more help from all administrations and the City will continue to do so, "said the mayor.

SECOND PHASE OF PEATONALIZATION

The mayor has also presented at the meeting of the Commerce Council the proposal for the second phase of pedestrianization of the historic center of Cartagena.

This document contemplates the modernization of the Serreta-Caridad-Gisbert-Puerto axis, which, in contrast to Plaza de España-Carmen-Mayor and Puerto, is very deteriorated and with hardly any commercial activity.

Among the different actions of urban improvement that have already been launched in this area, it includes the renovation of the street lighting and asphalt of San Diego Street (already executed);

the urbanization of Las Beatas and the surrounding areas (which is already running);

the renovation of Tomás Subiela street (in execution);

the decoration of abandoned buildings on Cuatro Santos Street (in execution) and the renovation of the surroundings of the Plaza de la Merced.

The proposed proposal, which is open, includes the remodeling and modernization of the streets Serreta, Caridad, Gisbert and San Fernando;

and the culmination of pedestrianization in Palas, Campos, Jara and Aire to shield the traffic center, except for loading, unloading and residents.

The objective of the Government team is to reduce pollution, noise, improve habitability and contribute to the commercial development of the area, which is the most degraded of the old town.

This draft will be submitted to the consensus of businessmen, neighbors and political groups, as explained by the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, who wants to be approved with the consensus of the majority.
