The professor of the UPCT Antonio López, editor of the scientific journal with the greatest impact in Food Engineering (21/12/2018)

The professor of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) Antonio López Gómez, professor of the area of ​​Food Technology of the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering (ETSIA), has been appointed editor of the international magazine 'Food Engineering Reviews', the publication with greatest global impact in the field of Food Engineering.

The researcher at the Polytechnic is a member of the editorial committee of the journal since its creation in 2009. Among these international experts there are only three other Spanish researchers.

Food Engineering Reviews is the eighth international food science and technology magazine with the greatest global impact, according to the reference ranking of Journal Citation Reports.

Specifically in Food Engineering, there is no other international scientific journal cited by researchers.

The scope of the issues addressed by this international journal is broad, covering transport phenomena in food processing, food process engineering, the physical properties of food, nano-science of food and nanoengineering, the design of food equipment, the design of food plants and factories, the modeling of food processes, the kinetics of microbial inactivation, conservation technologies, the engineering of food packaging;

the shelf life, storage and distribution of food, instrumentation, control and automation in food processing;

food engineering, health and nutrition, energy and economic considerations in food engineering and sustainability and education in Food Engineering.
