The Algameca Theater Group presents the bases to participate in the XX Amateur Theater Contest Isidoro Máiquez, which has the collaboration of the City of Cartagena through the Department of Equality and Culture.
The deadline for receipt of proposals is open from today, December 11 and will close on February 28, 2019. The amateur theater groups that wish to do so, from all over the national territory, may participate in the contest.
To do this, a DVD, flash drive or e-mail must be sent to the organization, grupodeteatroalgameca@gmail.com, with a video of the complete proposed work or, if it has not yet been released, with a half-hour recording of the work. the trials of it.
The Amateur Theater Contest Isidoro Máiquez was presented on Tuesday, December 11, before the media.
To explain all the details, about this contest, the councilor of the area of ​​Culture and Equality, David Martínez;

David Martinez stressed that it is twenty years since this event began and this long journey "has become a benchmark event and we are especially proud of."
From among all the participating groups, the designated commission will select five works that will be awarded with an aid of 500 euros and will be performed in the assembly hall of the Neighborhood Association of the Concepción District between the 22nd and 28th of April. .
The prizes will be seven, the best actress, best actor, best supporting actress, best supporting actor, best staging and best direction.

The Isidoro Máiquez special prize awarded by the public will also be awarded.
A novelty created last year in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Isidoro Máiquez, renowned dramatist and illustrious Cartagena actor.
For this prize a special trophy was made.
This edition is also special for the Amateur Theater Competition, since they are 20 years old.
The Councilor for Culture was grateful that on this special occasion they have chosen as the poster image the emblematic modernist building of the Consistorial Palace.
To finish, both the mayor of Culture and its organizers have encouraged the participation of theater groups from across the national territory "as it enriches the event," concluded Martinez.
