MC: "The IMAS keeps a thousand families from Cartagena without benefits and the counselor presumes that" (24/11/2018)

In response to the recent statements of the Minister of Family and Equality of Opportunity of the CARM, Violante Tomás, in which he assured that Cartagena is at the head of the Region in terms of resolution of aid subsidy files, MC has denounced the lack of attention suffered by the Murcian Institute of Social Action (IMAS), almost a thousand Cartagena families today.

In this sense, the president of MC Cartagena, Jesus Giménez, recalled that this body is attached to the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, led by Violante Tomás, while he has reported that these families continue without receiving service or benefit despite having the relevant and necessary resolution.

Failed model of the PP in sanitary matters

Thus, Giménez has pointed out, in response to the words of the counselor, that "the PP model is exhausted and the regional leaders have no social sensitivity, the IMAS of Cartagena keeps a thousand families on hold and the Counselor It boasts of its functioning, this is the level of the regional government. "

Incidenting in this matter, the president of the cartagenerista formation has affirmed that in Cartagena "it rains on wet as for Health and social attention".

In this regard, he stressed that there are still waiting lists of between six months and a year for users to be able to be active and exercise their right, among other matters, for the lack of budget allocation to services.

"The hospitals close, the waiting lists increase, there are no places in the residences and the help to the families does not arrive, and they laugh at us, presuming data", said Jesús Giménez.

In this regard, the Cartagena president stressed that "next Monday they present the regional budgets of PP and C's for 2019, we already know that they are showcase, but we hope that at least show interest in essential aspects such as those we denounce here "

Finally, Giménez has assessed that after years of discrimination against Cartagena, not increasing the budget for aid or investing in health or social housing "would show that our region is for them a place to exploit and not 400,000 inhabitants to serve."
