The latest data indicate that 22% of children between 14 and 18 have excessive alcohol consumption. "

The mayor also pointed out the work that is carried out from the City Council, through the Municipal Plan on Addictions and Drug Addiction (PMAD), "where we have been working since 1992 on the prevention of the abusive consumption of alcohol and other drugs."

Within the strategic lines of the PMAD, we work in several areas of action: educational, community and institutional.

In the first of these areas, the educational, priority is given to actions in the levels of Primary Education and Secondary Education, working mainly with students between 6 and 16 years of age, as well as with the teaching staff.

In the community sphere, work is also carried out in neighborhoods and councils, holding activities such as "Health Weeks" and "Neighborhood Encounters", as well as workshops on Health Education and Prevention of Drug Dependencies aimed primarily at children, adolescents and women in different associations and social entities of the municipality.

And finally, in the institutional sphere, multiple actions are developed in collaboration with the Ministry, in terms of training and with different entities such as the University.

From the Consistory also supports the various social entities that are dedicated to the care, rehabilitation and social reintegration of people with problems of alcohol addiction, as well as other drugs.
