Press conference to present VOX Cartagena (14/11/2018)

Yesterday, November 13, the first press conference of VOX Cartagena took place at our headquarters in Calle Mayor No. 2, attended by a total of five accredited journalists from different media.

The reason for this press conference was the presentation of VOX Cartagena and the proposals that our training has for Cartagena and its region for the upcoming municipal elections, in relation to security and immigration and employment and infrastructure, which we consider they are the ones that most concern citizens at this time.

Luis Armada, local coordinator of VOX, began by presenting his team of collaborators and formulating the expectations of the training at the local level, indicating that we hope to get several councilors and that the intention is to condition the new municipal government based on our approaches and principles .

The concrete proposals were then presented in a local code, focused on the needs of the citizens of Cartagena, among which the incorporation of 100 new local police officers, which will increase security in the neighborhoods for people and their assets. .

In this line, we will also request the incorporation of more members of the National Police and Civil Guard Corps, demanding the creation of a second police station, which we understand fully justified by population and geographical extension of the municipal area of Cartagena.

In this same line, we want our city to be an important military enclave again and we will bet that Cartagena can be in the future base of NATO.

Regarding the problem of immigration, Luis Armada said that VOX is not a xenophobic or racist party and that we are in favor of regulated, orderly immigration and attending to the needs and capacity for integration of society.

What we do not want, as we believe that the vast majority of the population, is an illegal, uncontrolled and massive immigration, which in many cases comes to live on our taxes without working and without contributing.

We want to investigate the way in which groups of illegal immigrants arrive by sea in boats so small that they can hardly cross the distance that separates us from the coast of Africa, if it is not with the help of larger boats, and what This role is played by some NGOs subsidized by national and international entities.

It is proposed the deportation of illegal immigrants to their countries of origin, as well as of the legal ones that relapse in minor offenses or comment some serious one, after fulfilling the sentence imposed on them.

In any case, it is considered key to end the so-called effect that our rulers have fostered and to bet on the aid for training in the countries of origin of immigration, so that it is there where they create wealth.

In terms of employment and infrastructure, we consider that both public and private investment is key for the development of Cartagena and its region, and that it is the only way to increase the level and quality of employment.

We believe that increasing employment improves competition in job offers, which results in better wages and that a higher rate of unemployment, employers can pay less for labor, which makes it have to compete for jobs. few jobs that are offered, accepting lower wages.

Therefore, when Vox is in the City of Cartagena, it will boost the creation of employment in the region by reducing taxes and eliminating bureaucratic obstacles, contrary to what the parties that have governed so far have done.

On new infrastructures, in VOX Cartagena we think it is essential that the Mediterranean Corridor project be taken back as soon as possible, obviously going through Cartagena.

It is unthinkable that it does not pass through Cartagena as it passes through the rest of the Mediterranean coastal cities and even more so being the third most important port in Spain.

The relationship with the AVE, we believe that this must reach Cartagena, but not in any way but the most efficient and effective in terms of speed, time, quality and security, which we have to agree with the other political forces.

Finally, and in relation to the new International Airport of the Region of Murcia, Luis Armada indicated that we are not sure of the convenience of moving an airport that worked and was only profitable 30 kilometers.

However, once the investment is made with regional funds, we consider that all taxi drivers in the municipalities that wish to do so must be able, through some type of quotas or similar, to agree to provide the service at the airport. Or is it that all airport passengers will want to go to Murcia?

They will have to go to Cartagena, Lorca, Mazarrón, La Manga, etc.

We will demand that the taxi drivers of the municipality of Cartagena stop at the future airport of Corvera.

Diego Conesa, meanwhile, pointed out the importance of agriculture in the local and regional economy, indicating that it is a basic activity for social welfare, that employs intensive labor and that in our region is at the forefront of the world as regards technology applied to the production of food, respecting the environment at the same time.

But he added that this source of wealth is not sustainable if you do not have a basic resource in abundance such as water.

For this reason, he advocated the approval of a National Hydrological Plan that takes into account the needs and aptitudes of each zone for the best use of this scarce resource.

VOX is the only party that has an integrated idea of water administration and that maintains the same discourse everywhere.

Finally, the questions of the journalists present were answered, which mainly referred to the expectations of vote in upcoming elections and to clarify the position of VOX on illegal immigration.

Juan José Liarte explained the legal twists and turns of the immigration problem, pointing out that the lack of means and the bureaucratic obstacles for the expulsion of illegal immigrants in a reasonable time, mean that many times these remain in a legal limbo, unable to work legally. nor return to their countries of origin, so they choose, as would any human being in case of need, for crime or begging.

It is essential to provide the administration of justice and the security forces with the means to make the repatriations effective, but more important is to end once and for all with the so-called effect, which creates unfounded expectations ao founded at the expense of the taxes of the Spaniards.
