Asido rewards Pablo Neruda School and Eurofirms for their work for the inclusion of people with Down Syndrome (12/11/2018)

The families that promote the association Asido Cartagena, integrated in Plena Inclusión Region of Murcia, have recognized this Monday, November 12, with their Amigo Solidario awards the support of companies and institutions to the group of people with Down syndrome and intellectual disability of the region.

This year, in which the entity celebrates its 25th anniversary, the Pablo Neruda Public School in Balsapintada, the Eurofirms company and the Asido Cartagena workers have earned these awards.

The winners received their trophies from the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García and Asido's president, Juan Pedro Sánchez, at the Town Hall.

The act has also had the presence of orth councilors of the Municipal Corporation as: Antonio Calderón and Ana Rama.

All the people, institutions and companies that have been awarded have stood out in the collaboration with Asido Cartagena to achieve in different ways the full inclusion of the collective to which this NGO of families defends and represents.

Thus, the award to a school has been on this occasion for the Public School Pablo Neruda Balsapintada, for doing quality work aimed at educational inclusion of students with Down syndrome, with close treatment, warm relaxation, and about everything, to raise awareness among the rest of the classmates in respect to the difference, specifically with Leonor.

For its part, the award to a company has fallen to the temporary work Eurofirms, by contact at the beginning of 2017, on its own initiative, with Asido Cartagena to hire a person with Down syndrome, is the specific case of Mari Carmen , which has been under contract for one and a half years.

And finally, the personal award in this 25th anniversary of the entity, this year we wanted to recognize the work of the family of workers that make up Asido, for being one of the fundamental pillars of the entity, since they know all the people with a disability and their family members, offering them a natural and close treatment, which in the words of their president "is the soul of the entity".

The Amigo Solidario awards are designed and prepared by the people with Down syndrome and intellectual disability in the workshops of the association.

Asido Cartagena will hold next Friday, November 12 at 9:00 p.m., its traditional charity dinner to which the Mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, are scheduled to attend.

The dinner serves to bring together mothers, fathers, professionals, volunteers and collaborators of the entity, together with the people with Down syndrome, to raise funds with which to boost the functioning of their centers and services.

The appointment will be in the restaurant El Jardín de Los Molinos, in Los Molinos Marfagones.
