- Cs suggests that the address of the Miralmonte school be invited for the next session to explain their experience with the application of the KiVa protocol

Cartagena, Wednesday, November 7.

Exactly one year and two months, that is the time it took the PSOE Government to convene the first operational meeting of the Working Group against Bullying promoted Citizens in the plenary session of September 7, 2017. The agreement of the orange training included the reinforcement of annual campaigns by the City Council and the Local Police to raise awareness of the importance of tackling bullying and the organization of activities aimed at teachers, families, and students to facilitate the detection of this form of abuse in all its forms.

After the celebration of his first work session, Manuel Padín hopes that "this forum of work has continuity and is really useful to tackle a phenomenon that already affects the 32 percent of the students who affirm that in their class they suffer situations of school bullying ", according to the results of a recent report of the ANAR Foundation.

In this sense, Manuel Padín has asked that a municipal survey be carried out in the educational centers of Cartagena to know the scope of the problem in the municipality.

What happens in Miralmonte?

The local spokesman for Citizens has also suggested that the management of the Miralmonte center be invited to know the results of the implementation of the KiVa protocol for prevention against bullying, "it is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the performance of this protocol that our Group Parliamentarian presented in December 2015 in the Assembly to be activated in all public schools.

"Unfortunately, the initiative was rejected because of the vote against Partido Popular and Podemos," recalls Padín.

The orange spokesman explained that it is a protocol that works worldwide with a success rate of more than 70% and that has already been successfully implemented in several regions of Spain, including Cartagena, "the Miralmonte School , located in the polygon of Santa Ana, has launched it, is the first and only center of the Community that has incorporated this system, which focuses on addressing the problem from prevention, intervention and monitoring, we will continue working so that the educational centers of this Community incorporate this kind of protocols ".

According to Manuel Padín, "municipal education services are one of the key links to address school bullying and with this tool we have put in place will be able to better control compliance with the measures that are progressively being implemented by the Ministry of Education, ( 900 line against bullying, anti-bullying school brigade or the application of the instructions of November 2017 for the improvement of school coexistence in the centers) and establish instruments for prevention, detection and resolution of conflicts to deal with this complex and changing form of violence at an early age. "

"We are grateful for the good reception that the proposal has had in the School Council," said Padín, who hopes that families and teachers will be involved at this table;

"This phenomenon is complex and not only is something that happens in the school environment, everyone must participate to try to reduce situations of violence that occur."

Cyber bullying

The spokesman of Cs has also asked that this table be the one that coordinates the execution of the plenary agreement promoted by Cs last October to increase the number of training workshops on cybersecurity in municipal facilities throughout the year, given by experts .

This agreement included the development of family training programs in ICTs based on initiatives such as Live a Secure Internet of OCU and Google, editing guides and opening consulting services and carrying out information dissemination campaigns through the communication channels of the Town hall.

In addition, by virtue of the orange boost, Cartagena will host on February 7 the International Day of Secure Internet, held at the request of the European Commission and the collaboration of INSAFE, European network for a secure internet.

Cs fights for school infirmary

In the opinion of Manuel Padín, Citizens is a party especially sensitized to improve the quality of education, life and physical and mental health of students, "that is why we have proposed this municipal board, so we proposed at the regional level a plan against harassment school, that is why we are fighting for the implementation of the agreement to implement school nursery in municipal children's schools, and that is why we have managed to allocate three million euros of this year's budgets to the implementation of the first phase of this project in the educational centers of regional competence ".
