The ADLE creates an activation program for employment aimed at long-term unemployed people over 40 years of age and with family responsibilities (29/10/2018)

The Local Development and Employment Agency starts this Monday, October 29, a pilot project of Professional Guidance called "Activation Program for Employment".

The raison d'être of this initiative is to provide proactive support to jobseekers that will serve for their immediate incorporation into the labor market.

The mayor of the area of ​​commerce and president of the ADLE, Carmen Martín, has been in charge of making known the details of the initiative for employment.

As indicated by the president of the ADLE, the purpose of this program is to accompany and guide the person who wants to improve their employability, motivating and facilitating the development of skills, providing tools and information and helping them in the planning of their insertion itinerary, to be able to access intermediation processes in a way more adapted to the business reality of the municipality of Cartagena.

It is aimed at job seekers who have the status of long-term unemployed, as Martin explained, "the group of people over 40, with family responsibilities and who have been unemployed for more than a year, becomes a target of priority action for the Agency of Local Development and Employment of the City of Cartagena, since it is a population with urgent needs of reincorporation to a job and that, at this time, is left out of other types of aid and programs that prioritizes other collectives. "

Therefore, the participants selected for this program are 15 people in a situation of long-term unemployment, all of them over 30 years of age.

Specifically 13 of the participants are over 40 years old, of which 10 are people who have family responsibilities.

8 women and 7 men are part of this group.

The Employment Activation Program will develop, from this October 29 and until December 21, a plan of personal action, training skills for employment and access to an internship in a company that allows recycling and Knowledge update after a prolonged period outside the labor market.

INNOVATIVE METHODOLOGY IN THE PROGRAM

The Activation Program incorporates an innovative methodology that concentrates in a space of time of approximately two months, activities of different types:

Training in Mindfulness to help them face low moods and negative thoughts that become recurrent in this group.

Providing tools that allow them to leave a state of apathy, discouragement and discouragement, it is about breaking with a defeatist attitude and facing a new professional challenge.

Self-knowledge workshop to identify strengths and skills for employment.

Value of my profile as a professional.

Projection workshop to the labor market, creatively identify the professional area in which I can work with those identified skills.

Development of skills for employment and relationships in the workplace, personal and social skills, such as communication skills, decision making, assertiveness, empathy, emotional intelligence and teamwork.

Basic training in office automation, ICT and job search on the Internet.

Training to successfully overcome job interviews.

Strategies of active job search and management of self-candidacy.

Search for information and job offers in the so-called hidden market, which accounts for 80% of vacancies.

The first phase will be training and development and will take place during the first two weeks.

Starting in mid-November, participants in the Activation Program will combine their personal development plan, with three days a week of practical stay in a company, which allows them to recover a work routine in a real environment, update their knowledge about specific tasks of your profession and, of course, allows a company to see your work and opens the possibility of knowing firsthand a possible candidate to fill a vacancy in your company.

Two technicians from the Orientation Department of the Local Development and Employment Agency have been appointed to carry out the Program, and a municipal contribution of 56,500 euros will be available to cover the insurance and other compensation expenses for its development.

The president of the ADLE, Carmen Martin, has used the occasion to invite companies in Cartagena to participate in this activation program, "contact the Local Development Agency to offer one of these internships to our candidates and have the possibility of hiring them once their differential value has been verified ".
