Citizens asks the City Council to work to prevent the flight of companies that are born and consolidated in the CEEIC (28/10/2018)

- The orange training brings to the director of the CEEIC its "deep malaise" because the first events to develop the Blue Economy program have taken place in Murcia and not in Cartagena

Citizens will promote in the coming days a meeting between the City of Cartagena and the European Center for Business and Innovation of Cartagena (CEEIC) to try to find formulas and incentives for companies that have formed or consolidated in these facilities to find interesting and profitable to expand and install its activity in Cartagena, "we have known that many successful companies have decided to move to the city of Murcia after creating and consolidating their business model in the CEEIC for years."

"Cs wants to cover that flight of talent, generation of employment, and productive fabric of the municipality", informs the local spokesman of the orange formation, Manuel Padín.

In addition, Citizens will promote during the coming months an initiative in the Regional Assembly and the City Council to create a table to coordinate the various projects, plans and programs to help entrepreneurs currently held in Cartagena and the rest of the region, thanks to public-private collaboration, "or we put some order in our offer, or we will waste a lot of time, money and effort in the creation of aid for our entrepreneurial ecosystem", Manuel Padín assured that this week he has met with the Director of the CEEIC, Ángel Martínez-Conde, in the facilities located in the Cabezo Beaza Industrial Estate.

This lack of coordination has also been recognized by the CEEIC director, who recalled that a few years ago this coordination between entities and administrations was unsuccessful and that it is necessary to try again.

The lack of coordination also extends to the offer of training courses by public entities.

For the orange spokesman, it is necessary a deep reflection on the effectiveness of a supply system that does not seem to respond to the real needs of the labor market, and in which duplicities occur.

For the spokesperson, this problem can only worsen due to the speed with which the labor market changes, "if as we are repeated over and over again, 80% of the jobs of the future have not been created yet, we have to optimize our strategy with entrepreneurs, or the future is going to run over us without compassion. "

"If you like the INFO, the ADLE, the SEF, the CEEIC, among others, are each going their own way, we will not be promoting a structured and strategic offer that helps the unemployed and entrepreneurs who want to find their place of work in the society, on the contrary, we fill them with doubts ".

Scarce budget

On the other hand, Cs considers the annual subsidy received by the CEEIC to be of 350,000 euros for the 500,000 euros received by the center of Murcia, Manuel Padín has also questioned whether these centers have their own funds, "if we do not invest in this we lose the train of the future and innovation, and we can not afford it. "

Therefore, Cs Cartagena will transfer this need to its Parliamentary Group for the next regional budgets, "here only seven people work, and it does not seem reasonable considering the number of projects that are underway, and that were the pioneers in community".

E-Blue in Cartagena, not in Murcia

Finally, the spokesman of Citizens moved the director of the CEEIC his discomfort that the events related to the Blue Economy in Cartagena but not in the city of Murcia, "the European Center for Business and Innovation of Murcia was presented in its headquarters in February the program 'E-Blue', and entrepreneurs and workers of the coastal maritime tourism sector participated, it was even planned to create a Living-Lab, a space to identify the challenges posed by the sector and to look for new business opportunities in this tourist, maritime and coastal sector ".

"I think it's nonsense, I understand that the right place for all these movements, workshops, and courses, should be a priority and not residual Cartagena, the port city, not an interior municipality," says Padin.

In this sense, Padín has informed that his Municipal Group is already working so that the next events that take place around this concept are organized by the CEEIC and that the City Council of Cartagena is involved, "we believe it is vital that Cartagena be the leader the development of this economic strategy along with others like the one in Cádiz: that would be a great impulse to develop the plenary agreement that we achieved so that the City Council promotes the creation of a pole or park of companies linked to the blue economy in the Port of Cartagena "

In this sense, Cs is still trying to implement in Cartagena the program 'Cartagena Azul', a strategy to promote this economic sector of great potential for the municipalities of the Comarca del Mar Menor, "but first we need a feasibility plan that identifies the strategy to continue in this economic sphere and the implementation of the Blue Cartagena Association (which could potentially be linked to the future General Academy of the Sea of Cartagena, currently in the process of parliament) to direct the work of the plan and include all the key agents of the sector in it.
