The Castejón's clumsy negotiation returns to bleed the pocket of the Cartagena (26/10/2018)

This morning, the councilor of the MC Cartagena municipal group, Francisco Calderón, has participated in a new meeting of the Air Quality Board that took place in the council room of the Town Hall.

There they have realized the municipal actions in relation to the contaminated soils of the El Hondón Sector.

Throughout the meeting, the mayor of Cartagena has lamented that "Castejón buys contaminated land, keeps the charges and in the negotiation, tips, forgives tens of thousands of euros," said Calderón.

With these words the councilman introduced his intervention to regret that the Socialist Executive has not given continuity to the agreement reached when Solvia was the owner, by which this real estate services company would be responsible for defraying its part of the enclosure and fencing of the lands of El Hondón

This pact has been violated by the socialist government, which in its negotiation of the sale of land owned by Solvia to the City Council, which occurred last June, did not include this option.

This will cause that the Consistory is forced to run with the cost of the action, with the consequent economic damage caused.

"This new 'socialist' carelessness," the mayor continued, "will bleed the pockets of the people of Cartagena, because an intervention that Solvia took now we must pay for it."

The mayor of Cartagena recalled that "the prosecution is already behind Castejón in this matter" and has reiterated the "firm commitment of MC with neighbors."

"We will accompany you in all your steps, we already announced that we will not support the municipal budget if it does not include a heading to deal with decontamination."

Chair of Quality of Life and Environment

Francisco Calderón concluded his speech by asking about the reasons given by the Government to paralyze for 6 months the materialization of the Chair of Quality of Life and Environment, between UPCT and City Council, promoted by MC and approved on December 29, 2017. It included , among other aspects, a line of soil regeneration, as a step prior to the drafting and design of the final project of the El Hondón land.

"Everything was ready for it to take place and give continuity to the conclusions drawn from the study of the characterization of soils and risks to health, the action promoted by MC and carried out by Professor Ángel Faz, who precipitated the events and that he put El Hondón back on the political agenda, and now we have to wait at least another month, "he said.
