A professor of the UPCT, awarded for his project Small Heart Tears for students with high abilities (22/10/2018)

The initiative Small Heart Tears, launched by Professor Juan Suardíaz of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) in collaboration with the CDIAT (Center for Child Development and Early Care) of the ASTUS association, received this Friday the third national award for Educational Excellence of this year's edition organized by the El Mundo del Superdotado Foundation, whose prizes were awarded in Madrid.

Pequeños Tecnocorazones is an educational project that tries to involve students with high intellectual abilities in a teaching methodology of Service Based Learning.

The technical objective of this proposal is the development of a technological and low-cost device that can help in the rehabilitation of disabled children, particularly those that fall within the scope of what is called early care.

"In particular, what we seek is to help the rehabilitation of children with disabilities with the ultimate goal of improving their quality of life," explains Suardiaz.

The initiative was carried out within the framework of the extracurricular workshops developed by the team of educational and psychopedagogical guidance specific to high-level skills in the Region of Murcia.
