CTSSP rejects that the "surplus of Hidrogea" goes to the social fund (18/10/2018)

The municipal group of Podemos believes that in reality that money is from the people and not from the company, and that it is a joke that all Cartagena pay for the HIDROGEA face-lift, having regional and local money for a Poverty Plan Energy

In November 2015, a motion presented by CTSSP was approved to implement a Municipal Plan for Energy Poverty, which has not been implemented to date.

In addition, the City receives money from the Autonomous Community to defray the expenses related to energy poverty suffered by many families in Cartagena.

With these data and after consulting the file regarding the Social Fund with Hidrogea, from Cartagena Sí Se Puede - they announce the rejection of the agreement of the Local Government Board that approves the agreement with the concessionaire to start up the Social Water Fund, endowed with 350,000 € with charge to the rate.

The purple formation will appeal this decision before the Municipal Plenary, in addition to reserving other possible actions, since it considers a real scam that the whole of the citizenship of Cartagena, through the receipt, will pay the expenses of the Social Fund, having already reserved games for this, specific items that do not have to do with the surplus of the water service that the company "says" have accounted for.

We can remember that this surplus does not have to be destined to the Social Fund but, in any case, it must be invested in works and in maintenance, or in future reductions of the rate, but that it can not be used for the POKEMON company to advertise, especially when it is not money that she contributes in any way.

This agreement, which serves only in advertising terms for the Cartagena socialism and HIDROGEA, reveals another part of the water plot and that the City not only does not control the accounts of the concessionaire, but also does not even intend to do so, allowing the company to remove some numbers from the hat of no legitimacy, as everything that refers to the liquidations of the service.

From Podemos point out that everything is much easier if you want to do well, and that what is involved is that Hidrogea sticks to the real cost of the service plus the profits that correspond to it by law: not one more euro or one less, and that the surplus be allocated to what the law says, that is, that it be returned to the City Council, that it be invested in maintenance, works or future reductions in the rate, but that it is not used as advertising marketing for a company that already has had to change the name due to corruption issues that are still being investigated today.

In relation to energy poverty and to prevent the supply cost of families most in need due to lack of income, CTSSP-PODEMOS reiterates that the Governing Council of the Region of Murcia, approved on June 27, 2018, less than 4 months, a decree that regulated the direct granting of subsidies, worth one million euros, to City Councils and Social Services Associations of the Region, to alleviate the effects of energy poverty and guarantee the supply of electricity, gas and water to people at risk or social exclusion.

Now what is involved is to know what the City of Cartagena will do with the € 133,000 that corresponds to it, and how the Municipal Government intends to grant such aid.

For these reasons we can demand the effective implementation, and immediately, of the Municipal Energy Poverty Plan, which is already endowed with a budget (local and regional funds that must be duly justified) and that only require an information campaign to that all citizens in a situation of vulnerability know the help they can request through Social Services.
