'Reading, thinking, imagining' presents this Wednesday, October 10, the essay 'Oráculo de tristezas.

The melancholy in its cultural history ', by David Pujante.

The act will take place in the Josefina Soria Library.

Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center, at 8:00 p.m.

Included in the program of 'Reading, thinking, imagining, organized by the Department of Culture, the poet and professor of Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Valladolid, David Pujante, will present his essay' Oracle of sorrows.

The melancholy in its cultural history. '

He will be accompanied by Rafael Luquin, MD in Medicine and Surgery, Cartagena West Health Center and Angel Paniagua, poet and translator.

The prologue, by José María Álvarez and Fernando Colina, advances that "this book is part of a collection of psychiatry that aspires to be a humanistic alternative to pragmatic scientism, to the biological reductionism that has hijacked the discipline".

According to its own author, it is an extensive, conscientious book, which took more than fifteen years to build and nuance with the slowness that I like.

It had its origin in my research for some of my comparative literature courses at the University of Valladolid.
