The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has appeared today on October 4 to announce the remodeling of her government team, with which she will face the final stretch of her mandate, including the incorporations of the new council members Mercedes García, who has taken possession, and Manuel Mora, who will soon.
DEVELOPMENT MODEL, INTELLIGENT CITY AND HOUSING
The first novelty that has been made public has been the creation of the Government Area of ​​the Development Model, Smart City and Housing.
A Concejalía that will direct the own mayoress and that includes the Office Cartagena Intelligent City and Urbanism.
As indicated by the first mayor will direct this area with a dual purpose: "facilitate the implementation of business projects in our town facing the technological revolution that is occurring at this time in the world, and Cartagena can not be left out" .
As well as, initiate all the participatory process of elaboration of a new PGOU - which is already awarded - and demand that the Regional Government unblock the definitive approval of the transitory norms.
PUBLIC SERVICES, CITIZEN PARTICIPATION AND CELEBRATIONS
In the second place, Castejón has announced that the mayor of the Public Services, Citizen Participation and Celebrations Area will be the mayor Juan Pedro Torralba.
This area includes the competences of Infrastructures, Public Road, Coastline, Decentralization, Citizen Participation and Celebrations.
Also, this area will have a new General Director of Infrastructures, whose position will be occupied by an official of the house, "whose mission will coordinate the completion of the works, its reception and the implementation of new infrastructure" has pointed out the mayor
ECONOMIC STRATEGY AND HEALTH
After this remodeling, the mayor Carmen Martin will assume the powers of the Government Area of ​​Economic Strategy and Health.
A position that includes the departments of Employment, Commerce, Industry, Rural Development, Agriculture, Fisheries, Health and Consumption.
The main challenges in which the mayor will work in charge of this area are the problem of the cleaning of plots, the culmination of the improvement project of the Santa Florentina Market and the consolidation of the infrastructures to improve animal welfare, as indicated by the first mayor.
In addition, with regard to the Area of ​​Health, Castejón has emphasized that the demand for the opening of the Rosell 100% as the second Hospital of Cartagena "will mark our task of government in this final phase of the legislature."
Regarding abandoned lots, the mayor said that the Government wants to deal with this issue "with determination, we know that with difficulties", with the establishment of a new ordinance of abandoned lots.
PUBLIC FUNCTION, FINANCE AND QUALITY OF LIFE
The Government Area of ​​Public Function, Finance and Quality of Life, which contains the competencies of Human Resources, New Technologies and Innovation, Citizen Security, Treasury, Contracting, Heritage, Sports and Environment, will be directed by Manuel Mora.
"An official of the house, who knows perfectly the Town Hall, since he has been working on it for more than 20 years", as described by Castejón.
Mora will have among the priorities of his government to complete the processes of civil service, to call the oppositions, to define the agendas and to constitute the courts.
That is why this area has also been reinforced with a General Director of Personnel, José Serrano.
Also, this mayor will be responsible for preparing the 2019 budget, and finalizing the work that has been done in the improvement of sports facilities.
CULTURE, TOURISM AND EQUALITY
On the other hand, the Government Area of ​​Culture, Tourism and Equality, which also includes Archaeological Heritage and Youth matters, will depend on David Martínez.
The mayor has stressed that this Department will face two "fundamental" challenges, that the 2019 budget be made with gender criteria "tried to make this a cross-cutting issue in all municipal policies", first.
And secondly, with respect to Tourism, Castejón has indicated that it is important that the weight of Cartagena Puerto de Culturas in tourism matters increase "as established in the strategic objectives approved in the Local Employment Board and that has the consensus of social and business agents and all administrations ".
Finally, the newly incorporated municipal councilor, Mercedes García, will be in charge of Social Services, Education and Transparency.
Garcia will also be the government spokesperson, and the secretary of the Local Government Board.
