Dismantled in Cartagena a criminal group dedicated to the commission of robberies (02/10/2018)

The four members of the gang have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force, illegal possession of weapons and membership of a criminal organization

So far, five criminal acts have been clarified

Agents have recovered effects stolen by those now arrested

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia and the Local Police of Cartagena have developed an operation aimed at clarifying several robberies with force committed in the Campo de Cartagena, which has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal organization composed of four people and settled in Fuente Alamo.

Fruit of the collaboration between the Benemérita and the Local Police of Cartagena began the operation to investigate a robbery perpetrated in the hamlet of Santa Ana Cartagena, in which the authors, after forcing the entry of the establishment, accessed inside and they destroyed the arcade machines using lever tools, as well as a hydraulic jack to force the security shutter.

The agents carried out an exhaustive technical-ocular inspection, as well as other procedures, in order to gather as much information as possible about the authorship of the criminal act and they initiated a search mechanism on possible suspects.

Agents of the Local Police of Cartagena, within the framework of the established device, located a high-end vehicle occupied by three men and a woman who generated certain suspicions, so they proceeded to its identification and preventive inspection of the vehicle, in the one that found numerous effects that could correspond with those stolen in the robbery with force committed in the establishment of Santa Ana, as well as the useful ones supposedly used for the commission of the same one.

In the vehicle, the agents seized numerous objects from robberies such as jewelry, cash and electronic devices and tools allegedly used in their commission.

After the arrest of the suspects, the Civil Guard conducted a more exhaustive study of the effects seized, as well as money and other objects, which allowed him to verify that they could be found after the authorship of the theft with force investigated.

In addition, inside the vehicle being driven by those now arrested, the agents found hidden under the seats two firearms and real ammunition of 9 mm caliber, so it is not ruled out that they could be related to other crimes of a more violent nature .

The analysis of the information obtained so far has allowed to locate objects from a robbery with force committed in Cambrils (Tarragona) and another robbery committed in a house with its residents in the town of Alicante Altea, perpetrated the night before his arrest .

These effects are mobile phones, jewelry and money recognized by their legitimate owners and that were included in the complaint filed for the criminal act.

So far, the criminal group disjointed is credited with the alleged authorship of five crimes of theft, committed in Cartagena, Altea (Alicante) and Cambrils (Tarragona), although investigators continue with the operation in order to clarify all the acts committed for the criminal group.

The investigation shows that those now arrested, who are allegedly responsible for the crimes of robbery with force, illegal possession of weapons and belonging to a criminal organization, formed a criminal group dedicated to commit robberies that, in addition to the Region of Murcia, presumably has acted in various localities of the Spanish Levant.

The detainees of Maghrebi and Spanish origin, between 26 and 31 years old and residents of Fuente Álamo, the recovered effects and the diligences instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Cartagena (Murcia).
