The Municipal Citizens Group has received in its dependencies of the Consistorial Palace the guides of the City Council that have come on behalf of all the workers that operate under the contract of the Intelligent Heritage Society to which the guide service was awarded in May 2017 tourism, access control and custody of sites, archaeological sites and cultural facilities for almost 166,000 euros.

The two-year contract expires in September 2019, with the possibility that two more can be extended and affects five workers, three guides (two in the Consistorial Palace and one in the Archaeological Museum) and two custodians (one in the Palacio de Molina and another in the Byzantine Wall).

The guides have explained to the orange spokesman that they perform their functions for visitors and tourists from Cartagena for years with a very high level of job insecurity;

They maintain that they have already gone through several companies for the same service without having their seniority respected, but above all, they regret that they have never been able to enjoy a clear work horizon.

For its part, the spokesman for Citizens is committed to studying what legal possibilities exist for these jobs to gain in stability and security, "these are professionals with proven experience in Cartagena and I think they deserve all possible help from a City Council for which they have worked brilliantly, often exceeding their contractual obligations, through several companies and for many years ".

At the moment, I think there are two possibilities, on the one hand they could directly provide the service to the City Council or, in the next tender of the contract, include a clause with the subrogation and improve its conditions, both ways must be carefully analyzed so that it can not give no comparative grievance with other workers and comply with the requirements established by current legislation, that is, the new Public Sector Contracts Law that came into force in March of this year. "

The orange spokesman has reported that CTSSP-Podemos has already registered a motion in this regard, "they are only betting on municipal absorption, and I think they are wrong to not try to agree on a situation with the Government and the rest of the formations;
