The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, congratulated the entities that manage the Botica del Libro for the brand new National Prize for the Promotion of Reading.
and he highlighted the fact that two Cartagena projects have this important award, since in 2014 he was also awarded the Mandarache Prize.
"For me it is a huge satisfaction to see that organizations that work to bring culture and education to all corners of my municipality have obtained such an important recognition as the National Prize for the Promotion of Reading".
He has declared Castejón.
The councilor stressed the importance of the city of Cartagena being known again throughout Spain on this occasion "for the work and effort made by the educators of 'La Botica del Libro' both in Lo Campano and José María The door".
The Botica project is a neighborhood initiative sponsored by the teachers of Adult Education of the 2005-2006 academic year, together with the entities of the neighborhoods of Lo Campano and José María de Lapuerta.
Several Councilors of the City of Cartagena collaborate from its origins and until now with this project, as in the case of the Youth.
From this council coordinated the project in 2006, getting a grant from the 'European Youth Program In Action', through its youth associations.
From Juventud also helps them to present some announcements of awards, such as the prize 'Young People With Values' awarded by the Obra Social of La Caixa, endowed with 18,000 euros, and won the Botica del Libro'.
Other recognitions, besides the National Prize obtained by the Botica del Libro have been:
2007 'Best Initiative Award', from the former Institute of Youth of the Region of Murcia,
2014 'Mandarache Award'.
