98% of the companies in the Los Camachos polygon lack optical fiber (22/09/2018)

Stones on the road to employment and investment.

Almost all the companies in the Los Camachos industrial estate do not have optical fiber.

Only the computer company Depau and the factory and distributor of alcoholic beverages Licor 43 have this essential internet service necessary for a normal commercial activity.

Therefore, more than 98% of the companies located in this business area lack broadband.

The Public Land Business Entity (Sepes) sells the Los Camachos plots without fiber optic pipes.

One more of the obstacles that entrepreneurs receive when they show their interest in the largest industrial estate in Cartagena.

The second phase went on sale a decade ago and there is still almost half of the free land available to entrepreneurs.

The Business Association of Los Camachos requests through its president, Antonio Betancor, more incentives that make this business platform attractive and, therefore, job creation.

"Our first contact with the new Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, Pedro Saura, has been very positive, and we believe in complying with the commitments made," says Betancor optimistically.

The greatest hope of the business fabric of Los Camachos lies in the future implementation of the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) linked to the movement of goods from the port of Cartagena.

Betancor itself relies on the definitive signature of this great business infrastructure before the end of the year according to the promises of the different administrations involved.

The Cantonal Party however believes that this logistic node is born small since the Region only presents offer for a single ZAL and the city of Murcia already has much more advanced his with proportions similar to that of Cartagena.

The candidate for mayor and general secretary of the PCAN, Celestino García Alfaro, says that "by definition, a ZAL is a facility designed and thought to provide logistic resources to ports, so it is totally inefficient to build a second inland to fifty kilometers away. "
