Next Friday, September 14, will be the reopening of the Park of the Rose, after the reforms undertaken for its improvement, as well as the opening of the Park Canino annex.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the Councilor for Infrastructures, Juan Pedro Torralba, will be in charge of putting both spaces into service, in an event that will begin at 1:00 pm, in Parque de la Rosa itself.
The facilities of the first public Canine Park of the municipality of Cartagena has 1,500 square meters fenced and with independent entrance to the park.
This public space will be used for the recreation of animals, where larger pets can exercise accompanied by their owners.
The owners of the dogs, as in any public space, will have the obligation in the dog park to remove the feces of their pets.
In this way, a measure that promotes animal welfare is implemented, since it allows the dogs to have a space for games and exercise, without the attachment of a leash, enabling a safe space for them and their owners.
In addition, specific rules of use have been established for the proper use of the park, which are detailed on a sign at the entrance of the area.
REOPENING THE PARK OF THE ROSA
On the other hand, will be reopened to the public Park of the Rose that has remained closed for 6 months to make improvements in it.
During this period of time, 40 students of the mixed employment and training course of the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) with which the Agency for Local Development and Employment (ADLE) has collaborated have carried out the project 'Parque de la Rosa ', through which she has completely remodeled this leisure space.
The young people have applied the knowledge acquired during their training in a real project in which they have carried out the following masonry and gardening works:
A perimeter road.
The creation of a rose garden.
The restoration of meadows and walls.
Painting and general cleaning of the premises.
Improvement and redistribution of drip irrigation.
Planting of trees and groups of plants.
Fencing repair.
For its part, the Department of Infrastructure, directed by Juan Pedro Torralba, has also done work to improve this space for leisure and public enjoyment:
Improved playgrounds.
Repairing the dirt pavement in some areas of the park.
Repairing all the lighting.
The City of Cartagena plans to continue making work in the Park of La Rosa as: the creation of new meadows and the installation at the entrance of the premises of a kiosk or bar for service park users
