The City of Cartagena has awarded the Hospitality of Santa Teresa Temporary Lodging Management service to pedestrians and homeless people, whose main objective is the care of these people, always in collaboration with other administrations and entities of the so-called third sector.

Among the requirements that are required to benefit from the service are:

.

Being over 18 years.

.

Not have stable housing.

.

Be registered or not in the municipality and have no effective address or be in a situation of social emergency or supervening.

.

Not having the possibility to cover basic needs by themselves.

In the case of minors, they can only be welcomed if they are accompanied by their guardians or are in an emergency situation.

As indicated by the mayor and head of the Social Services area, Ana Belén Castejón, "users can be referred by Social Services, who will previously study and evaluate each case.

On the other hand, Hospitality Santa Teresa is committed to send daily a list of occupation, with the number of people there, the data of each of them and the professionals who attend them.

For us it is essential that the people who need it most feel the support of their closest administration, which is us.

These are cases that require urgent action. "

The contract has been awarded for a period of one year at a rate of 30 euros per person per day, which means a total amount of 98,000 euros.

Family Respite

In addition, the Department of Social Services has already put out to tender the Family Respite service for family caregivers of people in situations of dependence for an amount of 132,000 euros.

The period for submitting bids will end on the 27th of this month of August.

The people who can benefit from this service are family caregivers who, for reasons of physical, mental or sensory disability, need other people to cover their basic needs.

Specialized personnel can perform cleaning, personal hygiene, mobility, administration of prescribed medications and minimal care for chronic patients, as well as the administration of food, previously prepared by a family member, and active accompaniment.

The schedule that will cover is from ten in the morning until ten at night from Monday to Sunday at the user's home.

The number of monthly hours will be determined by the severity of each case, the need for more or less support from the family member and the degree of dependence marked by the Autonomous Community.

The beneficiaries will pay a fee that will depend on their income.
