FISAT will watch over the social integration of 80 children in the Urban Camp of the Salesianos School of Los Dolores (01/08/2018)

Around 80 children between 6 and 13 years will participate from this Wednesday, August 1 until Tuesday, August 7 in the Urban Camp of the Salesianos School of Los Dolores organized since 2015 by the Fundación Iniciativa Solidaria Ángel Tomás (FISAT) in Cartagena and has the collaboration of the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena.

This initiative is a playful and educational proposal for children from families with limited resources to have an alternative leisure in summer.

The objective of FISAT to favor the social integration of children and preadolescents;

promote gender equality, coexistence in diversity and education in values;

as well as to sensitize the recipients in the reception of solidarity and intercultural dialogue;

and offer a training space for educational volunteering for young people with initiative.

The mayor of Cartagena and councilor of the area of ​​Social Services, Ana Belén Castejón, visited on Wednesday, August 1, the young people and volunteers on their first day of camp, where he indicated that the City of Cartagena will continue working with organizations and entities that do a great job to lower the population index at risk of social exclusion.

Ana Belén Castejón has indicated that these days in the camp will serve the children to learn important rules that will help them to be citizens of full right in the citizenship of Cartagena.

He also stressed his willingness and willingness to continue collaborating and intensify as much as possible the aid to this project, with the aim of magnify it and make it last, added the first mayor.

For its part, the camp coordinator, Carlos Costa, said that during the urban camp volunteers and young people will work different characters such as the athletes Lidya Valentín and Javier Fernández;

Don Bosco;

Jesus Calleja, Vaiana;

The Langui or Malala Yousafzai;

and values ​​such as discipline, respect, solidarity, courage and overcoming.

In addition, he explained that the routine of minors consists first of all in having breakfast as a group;

brush teeth, to encourage hygiene habits;

and carry out great popular games.

After lunch, which is always with fruit to promote a healthy lifestyle, it is the turn of the group moment to promote values ​​such as teamwork and improve the self-esteem of the children, as well as free time in the pool.

After the meal, the volunteers carry out with the minor cooking, experiments, crafts and dance workshops;

and after the snack-dinner, they prepare in a team the final party of the last day, which will be attended by the parents and relatives of the young people, and they return home.
