The National Festival of Folklore in the District of Cartagena closed its XXXVI edition dedicated to the singing cafes (09/07/2018)

The mayor of the area of ​​Culture, Education and Youth, David Martínez Noguera, closed on Saturday July 7 the National Folklore Festival in the District of Cartagena, which has celebrated its XXVI edition this year.

The event is organized every year by the City of Cartagena Folkloric Group of La Palma and with it they make known the customs and traditions of the region, focusing this year on the 'Cafés cantantes'.

In the various days of the National Folklore Festival in the region of Cartagena has been able to enjoy an extensive and varied program of events that have been developed in the Agroalimentaria Experimental Station of El Palmeral, the Big Houses of this deputation Cartagena.

As usual, the festival has offered performances by groups from various places in Spain, conferences, exhibitions, workshops, the night of Folk and the Folklore Festival.

The program started on June 30 with the official opening and opening of the exhibition of Sculpture 'Bailes', by Cristóbal Hernández Barbero.

We must also highlight the conference 'Women and copla', whose collection has been intended to benefit the 'Association Against Cancer of La Palma.

Also, the night of Folk featured the performance of the group Ea!

Music, coming from Cádiz.

For its part, the Festival of Folklore invited this year groups from Toledo, Menorca, Murcia, La Palma and Cartagena, who performed last Saturday before the eyes of the council, after which the closure with a fireworks show.
