Descend the number of fires installed for the Night of San Juan in Cartagena (22/06/2018)

The Department of Public Safety, headed by Francisco Aznar, faces the final stretch of the preparation of the device that will be deployed throughout the municipality of Cartagena during the Night of San Juan, from June 23 to 24.

On this occasion, the total number of bonfires that have been inspected is approximately 25, a figure lower than that of the previous year.

They are installed or projected for their installation in peripheral districts and deputations of Cartagena.

With the aim of avoiding uncivil behaviors that endanger people and property, especially homes, vehicles and street furniture, since the morning of this Friday, June 22, firefighters and infrastructure workers are reviewing the sites of the fires that are already installed to verify that they comply with all the security measures that are required.

In addition, with the help of two tractors and two trucks from the Department of Infrastructure are proceeding to remove all hazardous or polluting elements in its combustion, such as tires, mattresses or sofas.

It is also checked if the place is not adequate, in which case the fire is moved or removed;

or if its dimensions are excessive, in which case its load is reduced.

In all of them the surroundings are also cleaned of restrojos to avoid the propagation of the fire.

INCREASE OF CASH IN FIREFIGHTERS AND CIVIL PROTECTION

To ensure safety throughout the day, on Saturday June 23 will increase by six firefighters who will provide their services from 16:00 hours - which will join the 20 professionals who usually work during an ordinary day- and it will be reinforced again with six more troops, starting at 8:00 p.m.

In addition, to help the firefighters of the City of Cartagena in the monitoring and control tasks, a device will be deployed with 15 Civil Protection volunteers who will work in the vicinity of the active fires and inform of their evolution.

From Firemen has been given the necessary recommendations to avoid risks by the use of fire and pyrotechnic elements during the traditional celebration of the summer solstice.

43 EFFECTS OF THE LOCAL POLICE WILL SAFE FOR SECURITY

On the other hand, the Local Police of Cartagena will reinforce the police service during the Night of San Juan with 43 troops that will work to guarantee the security of the Cartagena.

Officials of the Local Police of Cartagena will watch, one more year for the security during the Night of San Juan, for the fulfillment of the specific norm on the use of firecrackers and pyrotechnic material in general, as well as the surveillance of the different fires located in the town.

These actions will be carried out in collaboration with the fire fighting service.

From Local Police advises that pyrotechnic products are purchased in an authorized establishment and according to the age of use.

On the other hand, the agents remember that the damages caused in the Public Way and in public or private goods can be punished by the penal way.

In any case, the responsibility to compensate the damages caused by children under 18 years old will fall on the parents or guardians of the same.

In addition, agents may seize the pyrotechnic material if its use is carried out in a way that endangers the property or people.

In case of any emergency or incident, the unique number of emergencies 112 and 092 will work 24 hours a day to attend to any type of emergency.

Likewise, Local Police of Cartagena has also offered a series of recommendations to reduce the risk in the manipulation of pyrotechnic devices.
