MC Cartagena explains to the taxi workers that will watch over the compliance of the amendment that materializes the Viability Plan of the sector (22/05/2018)

Yesterday, MC Cartagena, represented by his deputy speaker at City Hall, Isabel García;

the councilor of the municipal group, María José Soler, and the president of the cartagenerista formation, Jesús Giménez, held a talk with representatives of the associations 'Radio Taxi Cartagena' and 'Tele Taxi Cartagena' to inform them of the amendment proposed by MC, approved last week during the debate of the General Budget of 2018, which aims to improve the sector.

García, Soler and Giménez delved into the content of one of the twenty-seven amendments promoted by the cartageneristas in the municipal budget, initiatives that have transferred the criteria of rigor, efficiency and care of the people that was imposed during the first two years of the Mayor's Office of MC under the direction of José López.

The members of the associations welcomed MC's communication, thanking them for their willingness to provide solutions to the most priority needs of the sector.

At the time, the representatives of the Cartagena training announced that their municipal group will begin, immediately, a round of contacts with the other parties represented in the Consistory to demand the local government, in the next plenary session, to issue a decree that regularize the two days of rest for the taxi workers, a measure that will optimize the provision of the service and improve the living conditions of the workers.

In the same way, MC will request the Socialist Executive to present to the Municipal Groups the draft ordinance of the sector, whose wording is in its final phase, to take it to the Plenary.

Taxi viability plan

In reference to the taxi sector, MC considered it unrenounceable to undertake a Viability Plan for the sector, in response to a historic claim by the workers.

The drafting of the same should address:

The study and assessment of the needs of licenses in the municipality.

The eurotaxi ratio in relation to the current situation of the sector.

The formulas for the amortization of licenses.

The compatibility of the activity.

Service optimization formulas (zones, shifts, etc.)

The influence of VTC licenses (intrusion).

The influence of mobility trends.

Proposals for stops and rotation.

Vehicle park.

Expectations of the sector in the case of opening to the possibility of working in the new regional airport.

The latter situation continues to be of particular concern to the taxi and MC workers, since, to date, no progress has been made by Castejón or the regional president Fernando López Miras to comply with the plenary mandate that requires the Government Council to be urged of the CARM to adopt the legal measures that allow the taxi drivers of the municipality of Cartagena, as well as the towns of the Campo de Cartagena and the entire Region, if they so request, freely lend their services at the International Airport of the Region of Murcia, located in Corvera and, therefore, belonging to the region of Campo de Cartagena

With the amendment, MC has reiterated a demonstrated concern, insistently, both in its government responsibilities and in the opposition, will materialized in various initiatives such as the new ordinance, in addition to other actions promoted from the Department of Finance of Isabel García, as the line of subsidies for non-profit business entities, or the aid for adapting to the eurotaxi.
