This morning, Wednesday, May 2, has taken place the act of homage to the heroes of May 2, 1808, in which the anti-aircraft artillery regiment No. 73 has publicly commemorated the uprising against Napoleon and his troops, led by the Captains of Daoiz and Velarde Artillery, along with other military and the people of Madrid.
By means of a military stop in the Port of Cartagena, in which the Squadron, the Band and an Honor Battery have participated with the Line of Cannons of Vintage Cannons, it has been remembered as a marked feat.
The act has been attended by the local government the mayor of Sustainable Development and Public Service, Francisco Aznar and the councilor of the area of â€‹â€‹Quality of Life and Welfare, Obdulia Gómez.
On behalf of the opposition, Francisco Espejo, Manuel Padín, Esperanza Nieto, Francisco Calderón, Isabel García and Carolina Palazón were present at the event.
In addition, the president of the Regional Assembly, Rosa Peñalver, together with the Presidential Adviser, Pedro Rivera, have been witnesses of this tribute.
The tribute has included a ceremony of Oath of the National Teaching, which has been carried out by civilian personnel who had previously requested it.
Likewise, honors have been paid to the authority that has presided over the act, Major General Juan Montenegro Álvarez de Tejera, Chief of Staff of the Terrestrial General Headquarters of High Availability.
Another of the relevant moments in the celebration has fallen on the military decorations and the speech of the colonel chief of the regiment and military commander of the Region of Murcia, Enrique Maria Silvela Díaz Criado.
The public present in the vicinity of the Royal Scale and the Plaza de los Héroes of Santiago de Cuba and Cavite has been an exceptional witness, one more year, of the testimony of memory for those who carried out such a glorious feat.
