Firefighters prepare for the Noche de San Juan with a series of statements about the fires (11/06/2010)

Service Fire Fighting and Rescue has produced a series of instructions for carrying out the traditional bonfires of San Juan, on the night of June 23.

As explained Councillor for Citizen Security, Javier Herrero, the goal is to avoid a risk by placing fires in inappropriate places, and especially dangerous attitudes and behaviors.

Smith recalled that during the night of San Juan firefighters typically serve about 40 attempts of fire on these grounds, although none of them serious.

The instructions also include a series of recommendations on the use of rockets and firecrackers and how to act in an emergency.

BONFIRES

There must be an older person caring for the enforcement of security measures set out below.

In no case shall be prepared in the following locations:

Inside or within 500 feet of a forest, woodland or field continued risk.

If we burn the clothes:

Recommended for people who live near where they make bonfires, to withdraw the clothes that can be hung to dry and flammable or combustible appliances that may be near or on balconies.

It is also recommended that on the ground floor with gardens nearby, clean with dry brush and branches of these gardens and even have prepared a water hose.
