The future bartenders and chefs will demonstrate their skills (14/05/2010)

Students in Hospitality courses organized by the Municipal Social Services have prepared for Wednesday May 20 on a demonstration of skills learned in the same bar as waiters and cooks, an activity which is expected to assist the director general of the SEF, Ginés Martinez, Councilman Social Care, Antonio Calderon, the IMSS director, Antonio Mula, technical vocational training and business of hotel and restaurant sector.

This demonstration was organized for the tenth second time in order to introduce entrepreneurs to the level and qualifications obtained by students who have completed this training activity and to enable its insertion in the workplace.

During the activity, taking place in the afternoon, it will demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge with service and taste of dishes made with directors and managers of hotels and restaurants in our city, which has been invited to several companies: Entremares hotels, Cabin Ofitur, SL, Intercontinental, NH Cartagena, Alfonso XIII, Thalasia, Serena Golf, La Manga Club, Cartagonova Husa-Spa, Inns of Spain, Manolo and Habaneros, and the Aquarium restaurant, The Paradise, Piedmont, Botanical Garden and La Cartuja.

The Municipal Institute of Social Services arranges these courses Bartender Bar and Chef since 1998 and is recognized as a collaborating center of the Regional Employment Service and Training of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, organizing training courses annually Occupational these specialties, as well as hotel clerks, specialized care for Alzheimer patients, Caregiver physically and mentally disabled, dependent on trade.

The courses range between 1,045 and 200 hours, with more than four thousand five hundred hours over 9 courses conducted in this academic year 2009/2010.

With all this, the City of Cartagena and the Autonomous want to answer the great demand in the services sector in the Region of Murcia, possible through the necessary training courses for the unemployed of working age and job seekers which have not previously received any specific training.
