UPyD denouncing the abandonment of Calle Juan Fernández (27/04/2010)

After squandering the budget for remodeling the Calle Juan Fernandez in other pursuits.

The City of Cartagena abandoned to fend for residents and traders in the final stretch of Calle Juan Fernandez, between Trafalgar Road and Calle Jorge Juan.

It is well known all too slow and parsimony that takes the Department of Infrastructure and Projects in the refurbishment of the streets of Cartagena.

And the continued "fattening" of the budgets of other public works also unfinished and not even started (Hall, Old Town, etc ...)

Cartagena UPyD has received numerous complaints from merchants and residents of a section of Calle Juan Fernández (between C / Trafalgar and C / Jorge Juan) by neglect and indifference to suffering by the Local Government because of the works remodeling which should have been finished more than 3 months.

Works that were interrupted just started with several surveys, boundaries and placement of construction material in public.

Material occupying parking spaces, facades hide the business and leads to serious road safety by impairing visibility and pedestrian crossings.

Items found in a total state of neglect, causing unnecessary inconvenience to the residents and what is worse, suffered economic losses to traders.

Cartagena UPyD requires the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Works and Projects of the City of Cartagena to take the necessary measures on an urgent basis, for the immediate withdrawal of building materials and signs left on the street.
