Health will invest half a million euros to build the new office in the hamlet of Cartagena de La Palma (15/04/2010)

The Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, accompanied by the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, today laid the first stone of the new primary care clinic in La Palma, parish of Cartagena.

The construction and equipping of the new center will involve an investment of 534,460 euros, of which around 510,000 are financed by the Ministry of Health.

The new office will replace the existing infrastructure, increasing its capacity to deliver health care to a population of between 5,500 and 8,000.

The center construtirá on a lot of the City of Cartagena is located at Manuel Bobadilla and have a surface area of 577 square meters, distributed in a building floor.

The query area of the center will have three family medicine clinics, a pediatric nursing three consultations which a child will, and seven modules waiting rooms.

In addition, the office of La Palma will have administrative offices, personnel and general services.

The project also includes a data network for the entire building, which will allow the use of computerized medical record, which will connect all units together and with other healthcare facilities.

The Primary Care Clinic of La Palma is part of the basic health-care area No. 32-Pozo Estrecho Cartagena, including in the health area II of Cartagena.
