Intercultural Week in IES El Bohio (14/04/2010)

Councillors Education and Social Care City of Cartagena, and Antonio Maroto Josefa Calderon, visit today Wednesday, April 14, The Institute of El Bohio to participate in activities that are taking place within the City Program 'A School Open to Other Cultures', funded by both councils by the Association Welcomes Murcia.

Within these activities and because of the Cultural Week being held at the institute, students of another school, the Isaac Peral, this morning represent a play of intercultural, with the title "I Racist? Based in a comic that the European Union published in eleven languages.

The intention of this work is to combat discrimination based on sex, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation.

Designed for children and teachers, contains a series of jokes and documents intended to stimulate reflection and debate on racism.

The performance, which will take place at 12.00 hours in the institute acts elsalón El Bohio, I performed in intercultural encounters Secundariaenmarcado Institutes in Program "A school open to other cultures."

The Guidance Department of the Institute of The Hut together with the Municipal Program of Intercultural Education has also prepared a Round Table for Thursday, April 15, on effort, Education and Culture with the aim of encouraging young people values such as empathy, solidarity and tolerance, and to promote education and culture as a fundamental means of social and personal development.

In closing intercultural acts IES El Bohio has prepared for this week, on Friday to celebrate the Day of the Centre and conducted several workshops in which all students can participate, they are related to the percussion, with a sample dining where you can appreciate the Flavors of the World, with a solidarity that aims to raise the participation of all segments of the Centre.

The funds raised will go to an association promoted by the school's teachers called GAS, which aims to provide school supplies to underdeveloped countries in Africa and South America.
