Increased security campaign, coordinated by the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena, through the Institute of Employment Security in the Region of Murcia, is entering its second phase.
Last Friday, at the offices of the Department of Education met the selection jury of the art competition this season.
The jury was chaired by the Councillor for Education, Josefa Maroto, and composed of Prisons Miguel Riquelme, Head of Training Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the Autonomous Region of Murcia, Juan Carlos Simon, of SICO SL, a company that has developed the campaign in schools, and two technicians from the Department of Education.
The task was not easy due to the large turnout and the high quality of the papers presented.
15 schools and about 550 students, have attended this year over the second quarter of the school calendar.
The names of the finalists will be announced at a ceremony to be held April 15 at the Palace Hall.
In the local phase of the contest, participating schools choose to:
"Three top prizes: a digital camera.
"Three second prizes: a mp4.
"Four third prizes: four lots of books.
The finalists will compete in the local stage to compete in the regional phase, in which the prize is a bicycle, a PSP or Nintendo DS 3000.
It will be recalled the objective of this campaign is to instill the 5,000 students from 68 primary schools in the county, concepts in the prevention of occupational hazards.
The issues have been discussed are related to the risks they are exposed to school, such as burns, falls, electrical hazards, contact with toxic chemicals, cuts, and others.
With the dissemination of prevention activity, it is intended that from an early age, schoolchildren learn the habits of safe and healthy, and know how to act in schools, parks, even in their homes.
Furthermore, this work is performed on the three key areas of socialization of children: school, family and neighborhood.
To carry out these actions, there have been talks of voluntary participation and free totally focused on teachers and students, supported entirely by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and Ministry of Education, Training and Employment of the Region of Murcia.
