The City Council hires the latest work to finish the auditorium (27/02/2010)

The City Council has begun to undertake the completion of the auditorium and conference center in Cartagena, with the hiring of equipment for the two stage boxes, the sound insulation of some units, furniture and exterior development.

All of them will make a final injection of cash of 16.6 million euros and will allow the total completion of the works, as noted by Councillor for Infrastructure, José Vicente Albaladejo.

The main action is the equipment performing the two boxes that will have the two rooms of the auditorium.

The amount is about 8.3 billion euros, and will host events such as theater, opera and concerts.

It also includes a pit with a platform for musicians elevatori opera performances, as well as various stage machinery and items necessary for more complicated setups.

The objective according Albaladejo is that the audience can hold any kind of representation.

These works have already been hired and is awaiting delivery.

Another activity is the furniture, which includes the 2,000 seats of the two halls of the auditorium (1,500 and 500), and furniture from different rooms, offices, meeting rooms and catering area.

Its budget is around two million euros and now is under the submission of tenders.

The soundproofing of some rooms, especially the catering area with an acoustic, amounting to 1.8 million euros, complete the final performances inside the building.

To complete the process, is now in the process of awarding the development works outside amounting 4.5 million euros.

This project was jointly drafted by the architects architects of buildings and the Auditorium Arqua, Vázquez Consuegra and Selgas, respectively, with a complementary design but not homogeneous, which then will the waterfront, but with a different face of current.

The project involves the setting of Arqua is paved with basalt stones, while the auditorium will be paved with pine tables specially treated to withstand the marine environment.

There will also be an area of road traffic between the two buildings, plant floor, consisting of a grid on which a species of grass grow.

Palm trees, pines, ficus, playgrounds and street furniture, complete this action.
