The brigades of Parks and Gardens of the Department of Infrastructure of the City of Cartagena has decided to try a new system cubrealcorques to the hollows of trees that line the streets of Cartagena, to avoid falls and pedestrian injuries that have occurred by tripping in the holes left open on the pavement at the foot of these trees.

The novelty is the material they are made these blankets, made of polymers produced in the United States, so that will be cutting it grows as the tree trunk, which to date, with iron, it was not possible.

In addition, the cracks are just 3 millimeters, which prevents the trapping a heel, lets the water through irrigation, is fireproof and does not break down the urine of dogs.

To test the effectiveness of these cubrealcorques, test have been placed on four of the trees that are located in Bruna Angel Street, next to the taxi stand, and the idea is to extend this activity to other areas of pedestrian traffic in sidewalks that share space with the trees.
