Courses for the elderly in the municipality during the first quarter (27/01/2010)

The Department of Social Services, through the Senior Programme organized by the Municipal Institute of Social Services, has scheduled a series of training courses for the first quarter, in which the computer will learn more, train your memory or introduce in the world of mobile phones or digital cameras, introduction to painting, gymnastics and adult education, among others.

The courses were held on the following dates:

Computer Support from the February 5, every Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 on the first floor of Building Milagrosa.

Computer Level I and II, from 25 January to 31 March, Monday and Wednesday from 9:30 to 11:00 and 11:00 to 12:30 hours the level I and from 26 January to 16 March Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00 hours the level II, on the first floor of the Miraculous.

Memory Training from 27 January to 31 March, Wednesday from 17:00 to 19:00 in the building of the Miraculous.

Gymnastics Energy, from January 25 to March 31, Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 to 12:00 hours at the Youth House.

Paseo Alfonso XIII.

Introductory course to painting, from 20 January to 10 March, Wednesday from 10:00 to 13:00 hours in the building of the Miraculous.

Adult education, since 29 January, Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 hours at the local club over Marfagones Mills.

Have yet to set dates for upcoming courses in February and March Mobile and Digital Cameras.

By organizing training courses, the Senior Program of the City of Cartagena has several objectives that are summarized in one: to encourage the active participation of the elderly.

Thus, courses are offered to spend their free time creatively and orderly, developing their personal skills and promoting social and cultural exchange to prevent social isolation and loneliness.

Thus, improving the quality of life of our ancestors by creating opportunities for participation and socio-cultural activities appropriate to their demands and needs, encouraging their active participation, physical, mental and social.
