Firefighters learn new techniques to rescue victims in buildings (16/12/2009)

Agents of Cartagena Fire Department are learning new techniques for the rescue of victims under rubble and in buildings that have been affected by disasters, such as an earthquake or an explosion of gas, drilling techniques related to various types of building materials.

The way to pierce a wall of concrete or how boring a metallic structure also have a trick, therefore, within the training that firefighters have been receiving for improvement in the rescue efforts, including drills and courses that go beyond own fire.

In this regard, in recent years has diversified the types of emergencies in the firefighters involved, so that only 40 percent are fire and the rest are the rescue of victims at sea, including rubble of ruined buildings, collapsed by earthquake or explosion of gas.

Firefighter Training Cartagena, now going through this learning drilling construction materials, and has also played other clubs, through previous courses, including saves in road accidents and rescuing people in turbid waters, course that made the diving unit of the Corps in Gijón.
