The project Convigual handed diplomas to fifteen students (01/12/2009)

Local Development Agency and Employment of Cartagena today presented the diplomas for women who have participated in the second phase-coexists Convigual equal, which certifies their training in the area in the care of dependent elderly and the certificate attesting to their practical training.

The event was attended by the Councillor for Employment, Ruth Collins, and the councilman of Social Care, Antonio Calderon, who has encouraged the 'graduates' job search to leverage their new knowledge.

The project began on June 1 and ended today, and through it, the students have carried out their practical training in nursing: Virgen del Mar, Los Almendros, Hospital de La Caridad, the Day Care Center El Algar, Residential House Country Perín and Carmen Zamora Foundation.

Some of these centers have already expressed interest in hiring some of the students.

The project aims to offer an alternative job placement for immigrant women from Cartagena, developing actions for guidance, training and business practices through individualized itineraries for training and job placement.

This activity can promote gender equality, coexistence in diversity and values education.

Specifically, the project, with a duration of one year, has been divided into two phases of six months and each involving 15 women.

The 30 women participants have received specific training in geriatric care for elderly dependents, additional training and work practices in workplaces.

This activity is to develop in collaboration with the Fundación La Caixa and the Municipal Institute of Social Services.
