Night of alternative entertainment in the Anchor Youth Centre (27/11/2009)

Members of the Anchor Youth Association, which this year celebrates its twentieth anniversary, and have everything ready for the celebration of the third edition of the 'Day of the Don Bosco Federations of the Region of Murcia and Valencia, "a macro event itinerant youth this year takes place in the port city with the support of the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena.

Organizers hope to convene on Saturday November 28 a total of 800 youngsters, aged between 14 and 18, from the areas of Zaragoza, Castellon, Valencia, Alicante, Albacete and Murcia.

This initiative arises for the principal purpose of providing recreational space for meetings and relationship between young people who participate actively and continuously in youth associations belonging to one of the two federations 'Don Bosco' working in these geographical areas.

The event will take place at the Salesian College facilities, will begin at 22 am and will feature the theme of 'Carthaginians and Romans' as the axis.

This argument will provide motivation to make known to the participants some elements of local culture and history, as well as to acclimate to different activities planned, ranging from the conduct of sports tournaments (football, basketball and chess), a concert acoustic, dance and crafts workshops, simulations of the effects of drunken driving, carp gaming, health potions contest, bouncy, mechanical bull and mobile disco, among many others.

With all this, has made a night full of fun activities for all tastes, which are expected to give young participants a demonstration of how hard you can enjoy an entire night until seven in the morning, undertake leisure alternatives and, consequently, avoid those health risks that are associated with other types of leisure and consumer liabilities.

The initiative also has the support of the Youth Council of Cartagena, the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia and Caja Mediterranean, and other private sponsors.

Don Bosco federations and youth associations integrated in them are nonprofit entities working in the field of education in leisure time for the defense and promotion of children and youth.

Through socio-cultural activities, these entities seek to enhance youth participation and volunteering, health promotion, equal opportunities, cultural coexistence and environmental education.

There are more than 130 youth groups and 3,500 young volunteers who belong to this movement that is present throughout the Spanish territory and serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries.
