Inauguration of the new building of the Faculty of Sciences of the Company, in the old CIM (18/11/2009)

After eight years of negotiations and efforts, the Faculty of Sciences of the Company, located in the old CIM, has officially opened this morning by the President of the Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel and Secretary of State for Defence , Constantino Mendez, accompanied by the Mayor Pilar Barreiro, general secretary of the Socialist Party of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Saura, the Rector of the UPCT, Felix Faure, and different personalities and authorities in the world of culture and education.

BUILDING HISTORY OF CIM

Former Seamen Training barracks was built by King Carlos III between 1776 and 1786 as headquarters of Prisoners.
