The area of Cartagena will feature five new points of care in health care (26/10/2009)

The medical offices and Cuesta Blanca Albujón eight consultations enhanced with healthcare in these departments

The Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, said today the plans for improvement in health care for the area of Cartagena, after chairing a meeting of the Ministry and the Health Service of Murcia Cartagena Palace Hall with Mayor city department, Pilar Barreiro.

Palacios made a summary of the actions to be carried out in the health area of Cartagena during the next year.

Palacios said that "in the coming months we will undertake the works in phases, to provide the Cartagena area of five new care points, with three new health centers and two medical clinics."

The counselor explained that "in the coming days to finish equipping the new Health Center Centro Cartagena, a complicated work, which finally sees the light, and significantly improve care in the downtown area."

Parker summarized the construction and equipping of the center involves an investment of close to four million, and noted that the new center will have 12 family medicine clinics, and two of pediatrics and provide assistance to about 20,000 residents.

As for investment foreseen for the next year, Palacios reported on the proposed new health centers in the Barrio de la Concepción and San Antonio.

The counselor explained that "next year we will undertake the extension of the existing office of the Barrio de la Concepción, with an investment of 2.2 billion euros."

The third health center that will work the Ministry of Health next year will be in the Barrio de San Antón.

Palacios explained that the center will benefit from an investment of more than 3.3 million euros.

The Minister informed that currently is drafting the tender.

The future center will be able to serve 25,000 people.

Two new doctors

In addition, Health opened two new medical offices in the Cartagena area before the end of this year.

The Albujón clinics, five consultations, and Cuesta Blanca, with three consultations, are equipped and almost ready to launch, and added to open this year in Isla Plana.

Parker also reported that this year have been awarded grants for the construction of two new medical clinics in the valley, five consultations, and La Palma, with seven queries. "
