The mayor received tomorrow Thursday, October 8, six local police officers and two members of Civil Protection staged daring rescue of people during the flood of Sept. 28.
The reception will be held at 10 am in the Mayor of the Town Hall.
Two of the rescues occurred in the third Aljorra and Quarry Road.
In all cases, the agents had to enter the water to help a total of four.
All of them receive the personal thanks of Mayor and official congratulations of the Board of Governors.
The first rescue occurred in the Aljorra, the boulevard that leads from the village to the Housing New Aljorra when the driver of a vehicle ignored the signs of two policemen and tried to cross a flooded area.
The water soon reached the height of the windows and the police decided to act immediately.
They asked for a rope to the neighbors and the agent María Jesús P.
is tied at the waist and was introduced into the channel while being held by her partner John N..
The agent had to pry his body to open the door of the car because the windows were not used.
The occupant was released when the water inside was up to the seats.
Tied to the rope and with the help of several neighbors, managed to salvage the driver.
The second rescue occurred on the Quarry Road, at the height of the Naval hospital, where two vehicles had been washed away.

and Joseph N.
were introduced into the stream and managed to rescue first a woman and then a man trapped in a van that had to be rescued by the back door of the vehicle.
The third rescue took place near the roundabout entrance to La Aljorra, where the water had jumped over the road in large numbers and with great force.
Olga agents and Joseph SM SG noted that there was a vehicle stopped in the middle of the flood and its owner tried hooking the cable of a crane.
The force of the water knocked him down and was submerged and grabbed the cable.
The officers rushed to his aid entering the stream.
