The Department of Women of the City of Cartagena starts in October workshops and activities that form part of the wide range of training for 2009-2010, aimed mainly at women, but also carried out some for men.
The Councillor, Rosario Montero, presented this morning by the program that is intended to improve their training women for the purpose of their employment.
Among the novelties of this year, there are two courses, a basic repair workshop car, aimed at women, which will be presented in a theoretical and practical content of the repairs, bad driving habits, consumirdor rights in the workshop, including others.
The second course, entitled Course of basic baby care, aimed at new parents, with the goal of teaching the needs of infants, such as changing diapers, food or sleep.
The other activities are maintained over the previous year, including craft workshops such as glass, bobbin, the paint, the upholstery and restoration (in its modes of initiation, progress and major) and courses as defense or basic skills.
Courses with greater acceptance among women continue to be associated with new technologies and theoretical courses such as computerized accounting.
Furthermore, there are many cultural activities (travel, literary, theater ...)
The Councillor pointed out that courses have been developed for those traveling muejers difrentes living in the municipality councils, and Vista Alegre, Barrio Peral, etc.
and have difficulty moving.
Registration for courses and workshops that start between the months of October and December will be 15 September to 8 October, while the deadline for registration for courses that start between January and April will be from 1 to December 11 .
In terms of planning for 2009/2010, 600 women participated in the courses of new technologies, distributed 320 in the 20 introductory courses in computer science and 240 women in the 15 courses of advanced computing.
Regarding employment, the Councillor for Women has indicated that the Social Centre for Employment, led by muejers, aims to facilitate and guide women to the labor market access and expand its training and advice for self-employment.
In 2008, it attended a total of 735 women of which 645 were for career guidance, 84 for self-employment and the remainder for general information.
75 have managed job offers and the number of posts has been 18 women.
In addition, 25 companies have been formed, primarily aimed at service sector.
