XXVI Pilgrimage of San Ginés de la Jara 2009 (20/08/2009)

La Hermandad de Romeros de San Ginés, with the collaboration of the Department of Celebrations of the City of Cartagena, organized by one year the Pilgrimage of San Ginés de la Jara, now in its twenty-sixth anniversary on Saturday 22 August.

Romero started the day at 8.00 am, with the concentration of pilgrims, carts and horses in the Church of Charity, where a wreath will be the Virgin and participants will receive the blessing for his "journey".

On the way to the Hermitage of San Ginés de la Jara, patron saint of Cartagena, the pilgrims pass through Torreciega and La Aparecida, and associated gifts and stops for 'refreshment' of staff, until arrival at the esplanade of the road from Los Camachos where food will enjoy a great paella enlivened with equestrian activities.

The return to Cartagena will be held at 17.30 hours with the arrival 20.30, putting the finishing touch to the festive day Romera Mass sung in honor of San Ginés in the festive camp site of Carthaginians and Romans, followed a large festival choirs entertained by Rocieros and chocolate tasting and crumbs until the wee hours of the morning.
