Two new palm to Cartagena (28/07/2009)

Cartagena will, in the coming months, with two new palm trees with more than 300 palm trees.

The new shadow areas will be located in the plaza of CIM, in what will be the new opening of the city to the sea, and in the Garden of Beads, Los Dolores.

Regarding the CIM Square, Garden City crews, with specialized personnel are conducting these days for planting of the first 200 palm trees in this area.

In particular, yesterday were planted in August and today have been planted 38 more, an operation that will continue throughout the month of July and first fortnight of August.

After completion of the planting of palm trees, will proceed to the concrete of the plaza and in the month of September, paving the work performed.

It is envisaged that the square of the CIM has a large palm that offers a high shade and allow the passage of light and vision of the sea horizon.

Of these 200 palm trees, date palms will be of type 58 and type 140 of Washington and will be planted imitating the shape of a fish scrapes.

Moreover, in these days is under way to transfer the 68 remaining palms Royal Street to the Garden of the Ball, where they will be planted defitinivamente.

Remember that a few weeks ago the transferring, using the works of Royal Street, the first sixty palm trees that were damaged and could be a danger to passing vehicles and pedestrians.

In total, the Garden of the balls have a palm grove with 128 specimens.
