Cabo de Palos seeks Guinness record with the concentration of 1,300 simultaneous divers (01/06/2009)

The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, today introduced an activity to be held in Calafría, Cabo de Palos, on 10, 11 and 12 October in order to achieve a concentration of divers at the national and international try to reach the figure of 1,300, and thus overcome the current record 'Guinness' and that lasts over time.

The main objective is to break the Guinness World Record 'for more dive divers simultaneously and in one place, which currently holds the Maldives and 958 involving divers.

On the other hand, the objective is that, in successive years, Cabo de Palos and beautiful seabed become a benchmark for all divers.

As Cruz said, "this event as well as original and fresh, has a large-scale media and could attract some 5,000 people, with consequent positive impact of tourism for the area in a month as October, which is normally outside the eminently tourist season. "

Activities

The event includes activities that are both for participants and accompanying persons.

For the first will be a fair sample of material-known brands, a barbecue, the performance of an orchestra and drawing material released by the distributors of diving equipment to participants.

As for companions, will have children's activities, cultural, and baptisms of sailing and diving activities.

On the other hand, through an information center, there will be reservations for leisure, culture, hospitality, or restoring the area, preferably from companies that make a special offer for participants in the event.
