The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, has signed this morning in Murcia with the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, the singular agreement for the maintenance of basic services in the municipality of Cartagena, amounting to 1.7 million euros.

This agreement was initialed annually by the regional administration with the four municipalities with a population over 50,000, ie, Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca and Molina de Segura.

In total, 6.4 million euros granted, with the Autonomous Community subsidizes these municipalities to afford to pay current expenses incurred through the provision of services in 2009.

Murcia City Council has received 2.9 million euros, 1.7 Cartagena, Lorca the 1.2 and Molina de Segura just over half a million euros.
