Much More twelve workshops organized in May in search of a contemporary view of film, music, art, theater and dance (30/03/2009)

The festival of young talents Mucho Mas Mayo Cartagena, an initiative of the Youth Council of the City of Cartagena, is releasing its 2009 edition, which gives even more important than past editions, to training.

The festival has been organized in its fourth year, 12 workshops in disciplines as diverse as air theater, dance and contemporary urban, illustration, or the art of parkour movement, musical self-production and custom blogs, theater sensory techniques animation, public art and electronics, and augmented reality, interactive film and a more difficult course of classification produced by the Centro Parraga artists collective with Mayhem.

Therefore involves more than 300 training places and 150 hours of training.

Since its inception, the festival Much More May has given a great emphasis on training linked to multiple forms of expression in contemporary art.

This offer aims to provide training for young people interested specialized training opportunities from introductory level to advanced, in various forms and unusual art practices locally, and in the training institutions.

All courses from the Mucho Mas Mayo festival offer young people are taught by top professionals, artists recognized or accredited institutions.

The cost of the training program is 30,000 Euros, of which the City provides 20,000 and the rest comes through registration fees and contributions from other entities.

The festival includes three workshops with free credits for students of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena: Edit the city, building and developing a personal blog and musical self-production.

Workshops:

Edit the city, public art and electronics. It is an intensive thirty-hour to hand over three days.

Fabric acrobatics and dance.

The simple animation from toys is a laborious work done by many people armed with a degree of infinite patience.

The main technique is that the footage is shot frame by frame (also known as 'stopmotion').

In the stop-motion, unlike other techniques, the animator is in physical contact with the characters and the world around them, seeing how all creation comes to life on screen.

The objective of this workshop is to acquire all the knowledge to make any kind of audiovisual production.

After the workshop, students will control all aspects from modeling to animation through scenario building, lighting, film language etc ...

Among all carried a small piece of stop motion animation where they can put into practice all the knowledge acquired at the workshop.

Contemporary dance.

The dance is a medium that is expressed through the succession of movements of the body and serves artistic purposes, rituals, body movements, spreading or transfer of any idea or feeling.

Contemporary dance is based on universal concepts such as line, curve, space and time.

Be made through a personal style, a fusion of contemporary dance techniques with a classic.

The course will consist of lectures, where he taught contemporary dance skills and creating a workshop, "Cavite dances", to be held in Cavite Heroes at the end of the course.

Urban dance. Modern dance workshop taught by Javier Cervantes.

It is intended, from the knowledge of different styles of urban dance (Funky, Street Dance, Hip Hop ...), development and mix of techniques to explore the style of each participant to achieve a personal style.

At the end of the workshop will be representation from the workshop "Energy in the Street" where participants will present a choreography worked for the street, integrating into the urban landscape using the elements of street furniture to give more power to the group's work.

The Artvertiser: interactive cinema and augmented reality in urban space. This pilot workshop will explore the technology of augmented reality and narrative possibilities in public space.

Attendees will have a first approach to this technology to technical and conceptual level from which the group will develop narrative content that will result in the experience of "film increased."

The last day of the workshop will be held a tour of the historic center of Cartagena to take us to different parts of a fiction not determined a priori.

It aims to show students the workshop how to create your home studio owners, configuring your laptop for composing and recording their own audio material.

We will study the needs of each student and how to record your own instruments analog or digital computer.

Using different software for recording and musical composition will study the most appropriate use for each style and how to combine music with traditional instruments like guitar, flute or piano.

Devotion and desire, two concentric circles. This is a workshop created for the festival work much more in May, which tries to undo the concept of artist as being isolated and different from the company, proposing to a continuous cycle of experiences and interpretations that flow into the community.

For two years, the group has developed Mayhem workshop format-specific work as an experience that defines the group itself.

It is a hybrid that aims to transgress the normal channels of art, perverting the teaching experience, regenerating in a piece of art.

The workshop will be held over 2 days, structured as follows: 1 day inaugural performance "Filia" approach to exercise, teamwork, sharing and decision-making performance inductive "Devotion and Desire."

Day 2, onset street, parade and final action.

The work to develop is an action in the streets and squares of Cartagena, which is to build a place of exchange between citizens and participants in the workshop.

Participants have a small work of art in exchange for citizens to trust them a wish.

The wishes are recorded in "Chinese balloons" that at nightfall will be released as part of the action.

Parkour.

Parkour (aka Free Running or Art Movement) is a discipline that is moving through the urban or natural, overcoming the obstacles that arise in the course (fences, walls ...) as more fluid and efficient possible, and the only possibilities of the human body.

This discipline requires great physical condition to perform the different movements (skipping, pasavallas, climbing, etc.), But also requires a strong spirit, able to overcome our fears, great concentration and great confidence.

Parkour This workshop is part of the 1 st Meeting Point Parkour Cartagena and is destined to a wider audience experienced as young people who want to start the game.
