The general director of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, accompanied by the mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, and the Councillor for Sports, Alonso Gómez López, today placed the first stone of the sports complex that will be built in Cartagena deputation of the Albujón together the public school Luis Vives, allowing sharing of facilities between school and neighbors.
The sports center will be similar to that being built in La Palma, will be completed in eight months and will allow the practice of basketball, handball, volleyball and football.
On the ground floor are the dressing rooms, a fitness room, first aid and administration and control area.
The pavilion will have, on the top floor of a fixed grandstand seating for 186 people, six of which are reserved for people with reduced mobility.
The work has an operating budget of nearly 1.3 million euros, of which 300,000 are subsidized by the Community.
