Audi MedCup circuit about the competition and entertainment to Cartagena (30/01/2009)

The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, the Mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, the regional president of Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martinez and group marketing director of Santa Monica, responsible for organizing Audi MedCup circuit, Fernando Inigo presented today at the flag of the Region of Murcia in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) headquarters sailing circuit until 2010.

This sporting event, considered one of the most prestigious within the marine industry, will take place in Cartagena.

The award Caja Mediterráneo Murcia Region will be held between 14 and 19 September in the port city and will be accompanied by a full program of activities for the public.

During the competition the city will become a lively exhibition macro and visitors can enjoy a variety of leisure and cultural activities.

This year, as new, Cartagena will host the final race of the circuit in which the winners will be announced during the 2009 season.

In this edition and the classic TP52 will join a new class of boats, GP42, competing five days in each destination for five months in Spain, France, Italy and Portugal.

The trophy Caja Mediterráneo Murcia, which will be the second consecutive year of circuit racing, starts on Monday 14 September with qualifying and will continue on Saturday 19 with the dispute of the last race and with the awards and the summer party circuit.

The city of Cartagena, which has been chosen to host this event for three consecutive years as one of the most beautiful and famous of the Spanish Levante, will leverage the tremendous impact that last year the race had to project its image inside and outside Spain.

Stages

This week also released the various stages of Audi MedCup circuit, which takes place from 12 to 17 May in Alicante, from 9 to June 14 in Marseille (France), from 20 to 25 July in Sardinia (Italy) , from 18 to 23 August in Portimão (Portugal), and 14 to 19 September in Cartagena.
