Exposure of the General Plan is entering its final stretch (12/01/2009)

Exposure of the General Plan Municipal Urban (Plan) of Cartagena enters its final stretch, finishing on Monday January 26 after three months of public exposure (one month period as established by law) open to professionals and citizens general.

During this time, about 10,000 people have come to the cultural center Luzzy Ramón Alonso, where he has been exposed the General Plan, to learn about the details of the document that establishes guidelines for design of the city for the next 25 years.

In addition to these ten thousand people, about 30,000 users have accessed the Plan through the website created specifically for your reference, a platform that also allows the downloading of documents.

SECTORAL MEETINGS

With the exhibition of this Plan, the term is also open to suggestions, considerations and arguments, in order that the document has the maximum possible consensus of all sectors of the municipality.

Remember that the deadline for filing claims ends at the same time that public exposure of the document, the 26th of January, there a model available on the Internet claim, which can be downloaded and printed.

Parallel to the exhibition of the General Plan, Councilman and Planning technicians have conducted a series of meetings with associations and local and regional agencies.

Thus, in these months, there has been a total of 70 sectoral meetings with businesses, neighborhood groups, professional associations ...

The General Plan has been referred also to more than 20 agencies to submit to as many sectoral reports.

ADOPTION IN FULL

Once the public exhibition period, the sectoral reports and the allegations made are studied for provisional approval of the Plan, which must be sent to the Directorate General of Planning of the Autonomous Community and the Directorate General of Coasts, Ministry of Environment .

The reports issued by these two bodies are mandatory and binding, so it should be incorporated into the Plan for final approval.

The General Plan will be brought to the plenary of the City Council for tentative approval and thereafter, the Governing Council of the Autonomous Community of Murcia for final approval.

In this new General Plan for Town Planning Municipal 71% of the land is environmentally protected by the various options provided by law.

The Plan achieves these protections compatible with the growth of the city industrial land (nine million square meters with the union of industrial sites and Los Beaza Cabezo Camachos, plus two million more in tailings), a land reserve for an ambitious infrastructure plan, and the development of districts and county in the same proportion as the city of Cartagena.
